Approaching the 10th anniversary of the great 20th century Hungarian composer András Szőllősy’s death, we commemorate him by two of his vocal compositions. Linked to the genre of the wind-quintet accompanying Szőllősy’s Kolozsvári éjjel (Night in Kolozsvár [=Cluj]) the orchestra presents another score – an essential piece by István Fekete Győr, professor in composing for generations of pupils. The concert features another rarity, perhaps even a modern times’ première, by presenting transcriptions of three pieces from Liszt’s Années de pèlerinage written by his friend and successor in Weimar, Eduard Lassen.
