For 300 years Johann Sebastian Bach has been a source of inspiration and consolation to musicians and music lovers alike. He is arguably the most influential composer of all times. His music is the key to understanding and appreciating all classical music. Bach Bridges will introduce a series of interconnected music festivals across Europe. Bach’s music forms the centre of the musical programming, but it will be presented in relation to music of his contemporaries.

The final concert of Bach Bridges Budapest again contrast Bach’s music with yet another important composer, the Austrian Anton Webern. His delicate short compositions reflect his mastery of composition which comes along with an impressive emotional and spiritual concentration. To conclude our festival we will perform one of Bach’s most jubilant cantata’s
