Bálint Gyémánt Trio (H)

20:00
Opus Jazz Club
Featuring:
  • Bálint Gyémánt - guitar
  • Tibor Fonay - double bass
  • László Csízi - drums

Bálint Gyémánt’s guitar playing reflects a profound inner microcosm which is always open to new inspirations. The guitarist-composer wrote sensitive and dynamic pieces for his trio's debut album, True Listener, released on BMC Records in September 2017.

“The guitarist Bálint Gyémánt is not old enough to have known the iron curtain, but his music is in the tradition of those Hungarian musicians who exiled their art during the cold war. Clear play, without excessive virtuosity or too much salience: True Listener, his first album at BMC is a trio formula where he leaves plenty of room for his rhythmic base. Flight to Berlin is an example, with a beautiful dialogue between the bass of Tibor Fonay and drums of László Csízi, certainly the one of most beautiful discoveries of the album.” Franpi Barriaux, CitizenJazz
