The three Polish and three Hungarian musicians of Bratanki Orchestra are commited devotees of modern jazz.
The young Polish musicians, collaborating frequently also with renowned Polish jazz performers, are outstanding talents in their country earning more than twenty festival prizes altogether in recent years. A tender, forcing cultural, especially musical, co-operation between the two countries made possible the formation of the sextet, thus, hopefully, we can witness the start of a long-term connection and mutual work.
The band’s local coordinator, Ágoston Szabó Sipos, studied at the Wroclaw Academy of Music with a scholarship where he met the Polish musicians. The project’s aim is to bring jazz music closer to the youth with a novel sound melting up-to date styles from hip-hop to freestyle together with the original improvised nature of the genre.
