Featuring: soloists of the ensembles of the Hungarian Radio Conductor: Gergely Vajda As in former years, the jury of the New Hungarian Musical Forum’s Composer Competition will again be interested in the relationship that young composers maintain with important oeuvres. On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of his death, the competition now pays homage to Béla Bartók by inviting entries that were inspired by the composer’s art or personality. The composers of the seven to fifteen-minute-long compositions enjoy great liberty with regard to the instrumentation. They may employ 10 to 18 musicians, and in addition to the typical instruments of the classical orchestra, they may include even a bass guitar, a cimbalom, and a variety of percussive instruments.
