Benjamin Britten was only 20 when he composed his piece Simple Symphony, based on his own piano pieces written in his early teens. Mozart was 16 years old when he wrote his famous Divertimento for Strings which remains extremely popular to this day. Do the teenagers of the 21st century write such mature pieces as Mozart or Britten did? And what do they think about Romeo and Juliet, the most famous love story of literature? István Láng finished his piece exactly 50 years ago, which alludes to certain sentences from Shakespeare's tragedy. What did those sentences mean 50 years ago and what do they mean now? And why is silence so important to Ilona Dobszay-Meskó? The new season of the Budapest Strings Chamber Orchestra promises to answer these questions and more.
