Tristan Bogányi appeared in the 10th season of Virtuosos – he was the first bassoonist to compete in the Hungarian TV show's history. His father, Bence Bogányi, is a versatile bassoonist committed to contemporary music, while his mother, Clara Dent-Bogányi, is an outstanding oboist and professor. Bence and Tristan Bogányi will now perform lesser-known concertos composed for bassoons. The double concerto by Christian Ludwig Dieter represents the classical era, the concert piece by Gabriel Pierné represents the turn of the century, and the bassoon concerto by Gordon Jacob represents 20th-century modernism. The evening will conclude with Benjamin Britten's brilliant early work, in which he reworked pieces from his teenage years.
