The Dóra Szolnoki Jazz Gap was founded in 2016, lead by composer and songstress Dóra Szolnoki, well-recogniable fo her characteristc smoky voic . She created her first group, Dóra Szolnoki Jazz Quintet, in 2005. While mainstream jazz was characteristic for her first group, the current lineup – retaining the previous style – combines it with a more modern, pop-flavored, catchy, melodic musical world. Playing mostly originals, the group, as their name suggests, wants to form a gap in today's jazz Hungarian jazz scene, where both mainstream jazz and elements of contemporary popular music can be found. The jazz pianist Gábor Cseke, arranger of most of the somgs, working with Dóra already in the first group, was replaced recently by Róbert Rátonyi. Further members of the quintet include tenor saxophonist Izsák Vidákovich, bass player Tibor Fonay and drummer Dániel Serei.
