It may be a coincidence that composers have even recently been often called music poets, but what is the source for the age-old association of music and poetry, and the fertilizing relationship between them? Can a poem be transformed into music without words? What makes a piano piece poetic? Is a sense of rhythm important to a poet – and prosody to a composer?

The Crosstalks concert series by the Egri & Pertis Piano Duo presents the relationship between classical piano music and the other art forms. On this occasion, the special guest of the evening will be János Háy, the Attila József Prize-winning poet and writer, who will approach the questions from the point of view of poetry, while the piano will offer “answers” by Beethoven, Saint-Saëns, Liszt, Schumann and Brahms. The event will be hosted by Szilvia Becze, Bartók Radio's popular editor and host.

The series is sponsored by OTP Bank.

Tickets are available for 3500 HUF on the spot,
