Eichinger Trio – The Oldest Bambi Knight
- Tibor Eichinger - guitar
- István Megyaszay - bass guitar
- Zsolt Madai - drums
It may sound astonishing that, despite of playing in this line-up for more than five years, the Eichinger Trio released their very first album just now. Eichinger, the guitarist with his well-recognizable, unique sound, is a regular guest at the Opus both with his trio or as key member of other groups, like for example Trans-formation Quartet with a decades-long history and several albums behind them.
The debut disc of the trio, with its startling title The Oldest Bambi Knight, is a true essence of all the musical diversity that Eichinger and his companions are all about. Based on solid rock and fluent jazz, the album is full of the most different quotes and hints on music history, from madrigal paraphrase to rattles of heavy metal. The mysterious knight in the title is, of course, nobody else than the band leader, presenting his new warhorse with his two excellent brothers in arms, bass guitarist István Megyaszay and drummer Zsolt Madai. Their music is a 21st century excursion to the strange and mystic Eichinger-universe elaborated for decades out of contemporary jazz, rock, Latin and funk, and made comfortable by brilliiant taste and style.
