- Zoltán Fejérvári – piano
Zoltán Fejérvári, János Mátyás Stark and Gergely Devich are launching a new series at the BMC to mark the Beethoven Year in 2027. At each of the three concerts in the series, one of Beethoven’s piano trios will be paired with a work in the same genre by another German composer.
Music history attributes the consolidation of the piano trio genre to Haydn, and not without reason: the musical complexity of his works, as well as his style blending weight with a cheerful playfulness, greatly inspired the series’ protagonist, Beethoven. This influence will be evident in the two works performed at the concert: the dramatic tone of the first movement of the Haydn trio, the almost romantic, lyrical quality of the second movement, and the explosive energy of the final movement are all characteristics that also define Beethoven’s well-known Archduke Trio. Beethoven dedicated the Trio in B flat major to one of his most important patrons, Archduke Rudolf of Habsburg-Lorraine – the majestic elegance of the entire work also bears witness to the composer’s respect for him.
Further concerts in this series:
17 October 2026: Fejérvári – Stark – Devich: Beethoven+ 3/1.
9 January 2027: Fejérvári – Stark – Devich: Beethoven+ 3/2.
Season tickets for the three concerts of the series are available for 9900 HUF on the spot, online at bmc.jegy.hu/seasonticket, and at InterTicket Jegypont partners across Hungary.
