17:30
Library
Featuring:
  • Balázs Horváth - composer

While admiring Arvo Pärt's oeuvre, we have to keep in mind that the Estonian contemporary music scene is a bright, vast and vivid one, with numerous other outstanding composers beyond Pärt. On this evening of an informal atmosphere, the Hungarian composer Balázs Horváth directs the flashlight on some of them. We can get some impression about the versatile Tõnu Kõrvits, whose 2013 composition, written to "The Passion of Joan of Arc", the legendary silent movie of Carl Theodor Dreyer, was performed with great success in the Hungarian National Theatre; as well as about female composers playing a crucial role in contemporary Estonian music.

Guest of the evening: Tatiana Kozlova - composer
