Is there any more current topic in our 21st century everydays as roving, peregrination or migration? Can we talk about it without emotions and prejudices? Or was the writer just in right that “we are all wayfarers, so all of us have to move on”? After all, “the meaning of our journey is not the destination, but wayfaring itself ...”
György Fazekas, artistic director of the Sectio Aurea Chamber Ensemble commissioned 14 young composers to tell their thoughts and feelings on the topic, transforming them to music. The audience gets also a landing hand by Mahler’s famous Songs of a Wayfarer cycle, poems by him and others about roving, as well as by soundpainting interludes provided by Samu Gryllus, paintings of Ágnes Szolnoki and photos by Bálint Kolozsvári.
