Born in 1947, Géza Gábor Simon listened to recorded music since his birth, due to his father's 500-piece-collection of 78-rpm shellac discs. He started to write articles on music in 1964 to different magazines. Since 1967 he worked for 30 years for the Hungarian Radio, produced about hundred-fifty jazz records in Europe and in the US. He published 30 volumes on jazz, contemporary music and recording histroy, released in Hungarian, German and English.
