LiaisonTonique's collaboration mainly focuses on compositions written by the Cologne based pianist Laia Genc. Hand-picked pieces from the standard jazz repertoire are also elegantly integrated into the band's repertoire in idiosyncratic arrangements and with an eye on contemporary music. From lyrically modern piano trio passages to impulsively grooving songs and a playful approach to free improvisation, the three musicians exploit the supreme discipline of the jazz piano trio. Above all, emphasis is placed on constant interaction, the immediate joy of playing and the appeal of always being new.
