At the joint workshop organized by the Peter Eötvös Contemporary Music Foundation and the Budapest Music Center, pianists and composers collaborate on new works centered around representative pieces from the contemporary operatic repertoire. The participants are supported by composer-conductors Fabián Panisello and Gergely Vajda, as well as pianists Duncan Gifford and Péter Kiss. At the closing concert, we will have the opportunity to hear the pieces created during the masterclass; the program is also closely tied to the oeuvre of 100-year-old György Kurtág, and includes compositions by Péter Eötvös, Gregory Vajda, Fabián Panisello, and Aaron Holloway-Nahum, several of which will be heard in Hungary for the first time, performed by the UMZE Ensemble, a long-standing partner of the Foundation.
