Mihály Borbély Quartet - new BMC album debut concert

21:00
Opus Jazz Club
Mihály Borbély - saxophone Áron Tálas - piano Balázs Horváth - double bass István Baló - drums
The quartet was formed around the millennium by Mihály Borbély, equally versatile in folk and world music, jazz and contemporary music, with fellow-musicians of similar spirit and taste. The improvisational music they play is an amalgam of various styles of jazz and the ethno-musicological heritage of the Carpathian-Basin and the Balkans saturated by interesting melodic variations, now by finely transparent, other times by powerful rhythmic patterns. Their third BMC release Hungarian Jazz Rhapsody delivers selected picks of vintage tunes from an imaginary “Hungarian songbook”, like Rezső Seress' worldwide known Sad Sunday, among other popular tunes, as well as new arrangements of Hungarian jazz compositions, with the title tune among them, written by the legendary Hungarian guitarist, Attila Zoller.
The new album is available for the first time after the concert at the very special price of only a 1000 HUF!
Tickets are available for 1000 HUF on the spot, in the national JEGYPONT network of Interticket and online at JEGY.HU.
Seating at the Opus jazz Club can only be guaranteed in case of a table reservation.
