So I know exactly what makes her music so unique: the dedication, contemplation and beauty of a genuinely kind personality. Take your time listening to her.” (Veronika Harcsa) Krisztina Dányi, a classically trained Hungarian singersongwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer known by her stage name morningdeer made her debut in 2011 with her well-received LP Days styled as one between boundaries of art-rock, baroque pop and lo fi. Associated with the Hungarian lo-fi/bedroom scene of Budapest, Dányi’s quartet started performing as a lo-fi act around Budapest, appearing on several experimental jazz improvising sessions. In 2012 she disbanded her quartet and started to work on a new sound resulting her sophomore album Concert On A Twig released this summer by Whereabout Records in Japan, Great-Britain and the USA. Joined by three experienced jazz musicians, in the constant quest for unity, her new live band's sound resembles to her works more than ever, evoking St. Vincent, Arto Lindsay, early CoCoRosie and sometimes Radiohead.
