The latest programme by Rozina Pátkai’s unique MINKA band is built around the writings of Ágnes Nemes Nagy, situated at the intersection of poetry, experimental music and free improvisation. The previously composed pieces from Függőleges pillanat (Vertical Moment) are loosened up and take on a new form: the songs, poems and the poet’s archival audio recordings are interwoven with live electronic and acoustic soundscapes. The composed sections break down into free improvisations, only to return in unexpected forms. The images, objects, spaces and silences of the poems are transformed into sound, rhythm and an ever-changing musical structure.
