Rozina Pátkai Quintet
21:00
Opus Jazz Club
Rozina Pátkai - vocals
Balázs Pecze - trumpet
Mátyás Tóth - guitar
Márton Soós - double bass
Balázs Cseh - drums
Hungarian vocalist Rozina Patkai has made her bones performing her 'new-jazz version' of bossa nova in Europe. Her voice possesses the same European cadence as an Edith Piaf, giving her singing, on some songs, a bit of a sepia patina. (allaboutjazz.com)
The jazz bossa-nova of the Rozina Pátkai Quartet continues its triumphant march not just in Hungary but also worldwide. Since their last gig at the Opus Jazz Club in April, they won first prize of the Made in NY Jazz Competition in the “Best arrangement” category with their Gershwin cover The Man I Love / El Hombre que Yo Amehave, arranged by Márton Fenyvesi. Most recent news is that this year they won the second time a first prize at the IMA (Independent Music Awards), this time not the Audience Prize but the jury's First Prize in the “Best Jazz Vocal Song” category with the above-mentioned piece. On the gala-concert, following the award-eremony, such members of the jury like Randy Brecker or Lenny White shared the stage with them.
Tickets are available for 1700 HUF on the spot, in the national JEGYPONT network of Interticket and online at JEGY.HU.
Seating at the Opus jazz Club can only be guaranteed in case of a table reservation.
