Sakobi brings together three distinctive voices of the Czech jazz scene: saxophonist Radek Zapadlo, double bassist Vilém Spilka, and drummer Martin Kleibl. Having performed together for years in various projects, the trio shares a strong musical connection and an intuitive interplay on stage. Their repertoire combines jazz standards with original compositions from their two albums released on Bivak Records. While all three musicians contribute as composers, Vilém Spilka provides much of the material, drawing inspiration from sources ranging from his hometown of Brno to Japan, reflected in the band's name and album titles Banzai! and San. Rooted in jazz tradition yet open to influences from folk and other contemporary styles, Sakobi creates music that is dynamic, colorful, and full of character.
