The concert will feature a selection of chamber music works by composer, conductor and flutist Armand Tóth. Composed in 2025 and 2026, some of the pieces were inspired by their performers and written specifically for them. The various musical genres and forms appear with a distinctive voice through the programme. The pieces are independent and unique; standing on the bridge of European classical music spanning centuries, clad in the mantle of the fine arts, they move towards the future without any intention of rejecting traditions or forcibly renewing them. “I believe in all that is ancient, and I regard with curious scepticism everything in which the new and the startling are acknowledged by reason and intellect, whilst the soul remains behind the curtain,” as the composer summarised his approach.

Armand Tóth was born in 1955. He completed his studies in Hungary, Germany and Italy. He began his career at the Hungarian State Opera, then continued as the principal conductor of symphony orchestras and as a conductor of opera and ballet performances. He has conducted in numerous European countries, and as a composer he has also made guest appearances in Japan, Australia and the USA. His works have won prizes at music competitions in Hungary and internationally.
