Zsolt Bende Trio (HU)

20:00
Opus Jazz Club
Featuring:
  • Zsolt Bende - guitar
  • Marcell Gyányi - double bass
  • László Csízi - drums

The Perspectives Project band was founded in 2020 by Zsolt Bende, a Transylvanian-born jazz guitarist living in Budapest, who previously studied in the citadel of jazz education, Berklee in Boston. He has participated in several international festivals with such prominent musicians of today’s music generation as Lionel Loueke, Antonio Sanchez, or Avishai Cohen. He invited to play in this trio the Slovakian born drummer László Csízi and Hungarian-born bassist Marcell Gyányi, both of whom are among the most virtuoso musicians of the young generation of Hungarian jazz. With the name - Perspectives Project - the tree musicians also refer to that fact, that they come from three different regions of the Carpathian Basin, and cut in with different cultural backgrounds and perspectives to get from the known to the unknown. The trio plays Bende's own, close-to-human compositions, with electronic effects added to the three instruments. The Perspectives Project is a fresh highlight on the contemporary, hungarian jazz palette, combining old forms with new ideas in an original way.
