BMC Records Gábor Gadó | János Ávéd: Whispering Quiet Secrets Into Hairy Ears
Guitarist Gábor Gadó, who resides in France and after having achieved significant success there with his etalon French quartet and recording with such prominent musicians as Dave Liebman, Frank London and Laurent Blondiau, made an album with one of the most sensitive saxophonists in the Hungarian jazz scene, János Ávéd. Their joint album entitled Whispering Quiet Secrets Into Hairy Ears contains many musical references from Mozart to Bach to Liszt, while ranging in tone from Gregorian to modern music. The duo is joined on three compositions by two young classical music excellences, violist Éva Osztrosits and cellist Tamás Zétényi, elevating the powerful pieces of the two musicians to even more ethereal heights.
One of the oldest ensign of BMC Records is the partly French-based guitarist Gábor Gadó. Through his quartet of leading jazz musicians (Matthieu Donarier, Sébastian Boisseau, Joe Quitzke) – which was listed as one of the most popular jazz productions in France twenty years ago – played a significant role in the label becoming the publisher of a number of otheroutstanding French musicians. He has come a long way in his more than thirty years long musical evolution, but one thing has remained the same: he sees music as a prayer from the beginning to the present day. Gábor Gadó, who will soon turn 65, has found a partner in this in the saxophonist János Ávéd, 26 years his junior, is one of the most important saxophonist-composers of his generation. Their collaboration resulted in a record with classical musical allusions, which bears the hallmarks of Baroque and Gregorian music, orthodox choirs and the influence of Franz Liszt. The two musicians change the duo line- up, which opens up spacious spaces for playfulness and improvisations, for a quartet on three compositions, in which two young classical prominent soloists, violist Éva Osztrosits and cellist Tamás Zétényi join them.
