Early Birds is a group of six musicians who meet at dawn to explore unique melodies full of peacefulness, relief and brightness. Being educated musicians who gained knowledge at the Institute of Jazz, Academy of Music in Katowice and at the same time having a distinctive musical sensitivity, Early Birds would move any hardened heart by means of their music. The band was founded by Martyna Kwolek who is a vocalist, composer, and lyricist. The music of Early Birds mostly features the compositions written by the leader, but also some unique arrangements of jazz standards. Their music can be defined as a combination of jazz and sung poetry. The sound of Early Birds brings a listener close to the north of Europe – Scandinavia, Iceland – which for many years has been a source of inspiration for the band. Thanks to the untypical set of instruments - vibraphone, double bass, saxophone, percussion (udu, congas, happy drum, rattles, etc.) and the drums, the sound of Early Birds seems to be very intriguing and unique. Their debut album was released by Hevhetia in June 2017.
