Andreas Scholl – counter tenor Edin Karamazov – lute Budapest Chamber Symphony
Best known as a Baroque singer and a world-famous interpreter of Schubert, German countertenor Andreas Scholl presents on Wayfaring Stranger the best-known folk songs in the arrangements of Craig Leon, with the accompaniment of Bosnian lutanist Edin Karamazov and the Budapest Chamber Symphony. Along with Scholl’s magical voice and the lute of Karamazov (who may be familiar from Sting’s 2006 album of Dowland compositions, Songs from the Labyrinth), the use of the means of classical music to render these folk songs guarantees a unique musical experience.
