Despite the singularity of a duo of 2 instruments such as the bassoon and cello, the repertoire for these formation is various and extremely interesting.

Boismortier is a French composer of the XVIII century who dedicated his work especially to the instrumental music. One sample is this sonata for 2 low instruments, part of a collection of 6 sonatas, which is structured according the taste of the french baroque music, with movements inspired on different kind of dances.

Mozart sonata was written in 1775 and it was dedicated to the bassoon amateur Thaddäus von Dürnitz: that explains the preeminent role of the bassoon, while the cello has the function of basso continuo.

The Rossini compositions were arranged for 2 bassoons or cello from the bassoonist Francois Gebauer, to give the possibilty even to non common instruments like bassoon and cello to play and enjoy some of the most popular melodies of that age.

The most important part of the program is dedicated to Philippe Hersant, a French composer, born in 1948, winner of many international prizes and one of the first composer of his generation to write tonal and modal music, however avoiding any neoclassical influence. The piece Niggun is inspired on an hebrew chassidic melody of the end of XVIII. In this piece the bassoon is imitating the human voice, creating a kind of dialogue between the man and the Divine. The 8 pieces were in origin written for bassoon and viola in 1995, the composer realized recently this arrangement for bassoon and cello. These pieces are influeced on one side from the style of Janaček and Strawinsky, on the other side from the folk music of different part of the world, creating "ethnic fictional" melodies, except for the 7° piece, which is an original melody from Mongolia. Les Ombres de Giverny (The shadows of Giverny) is written for solo cello in 2007. Based on a few musical elements, wich return periodicly back, and having some musical shadows elements remembering baroque music and some former works of the composer.

Orsolya Mód and Andrea Bressan met each other in the Budapest Festival Orchestra, where both of them play. Their collaboration is a great opportunity for them, to find new compositions and different programs for their instruments.
