46 operas, 90 sonatas, more than 500 concertos, four among them earning a special place in music history. The violin concertos presenting the four seasons had an enormous impact, from Jean-Jacques Rousseau's flute transcription to Piazzola's tango renditions, despite the fact that the original pieces were unkown for almost two centuries. If we examine the 500 concertos further, we can find an amazing variety of orchestration and Vivald's trademark special effects.
