  • Dezső Oláh - piano
  • Péter Oláh  - double bass

1986-born jazz composer and pianist Dezső Oláh is one of Hungary’s most talented and promising young musicians. The Junior Prima winning jazz pianist’s musical career is flanked by numerous professional awards and the most varied musical collaborations. Péter Oláh plays bass for innumerable bands due to his stability and his excellent solo-work, while drummer András Lakatos Pecek proved his abilities both with his own Pecek Lakatos Trio, and with the renowned Szakcsi’s New Gipsy Jazz outfit.

Key part of the program of the present concert presents their recently released album, Reflections of Béla Bartók’s Six Romanian Dances. Dezső Oláh adapted Bartók’s Romanian Folk Dances, composed for piano in 1915, for a classical jazz piano trio. The young pianist and his fellow-musicians preserve the original character of Bartók’s piece, comprised of six dance-movements, interspersing it with various improvisations between the individual movements.
