Goethe Jazz: Platypus
21:00
Opus Jazz Club
Michael Schiefel - vocals
Miklós Lukács - cimbalom
Jörg Brinkmann - cello
In his newest project Michael Schiefel tells us stories about the funny animal, the platypus. This is no surprize for anybody who has seen him former at concert in the Palace of Arts, the Trafo or at the Mediwave, as they know well that humour is one of the basic element of the German singer. This of course doesn’t mean that the ECHO-prize winner artist or his fellow-musicians are making jokes with their music. Schiefel is one of the most interesting figures among the European male singers, a favourite of numerous festival organizers. Cimbalom virtuoso Miklós Lukács doesn’t need introduction and cellist Jörg Brinkmann played just the other day at the Opus with Oliver’s Cinema.
The trio had their premiere last years at the legendary Moers Festival, followed by gigs in the Netherlands. During their brief stay in Budapest they will have recording sessions at the BMC, in order to release the trio’s program on disc by BMC records. This album would be the 3rd one of Schiefel on BMC records.
The singer uses his loops and electronics again to stretch the means of his unique voice even further. The result of harmonic symbiosis of cello, cimbalom and voice is as unusual, unique and fascinating as a platypus can be…
Tickets are available for 1500 HUF on the spot, in the national JEGYPONT network of Interticket and online atJEGY.HU.
Seating at the Opus jazz Club can only be guaranteed in case of a table reservation.
