János Vázsonyi's trio wonders on the boundaries of classical, jazz and folk music, exploring analogies between genres. János Nagy needs little introduction to Hungarian jazz fans, but few know that he also has a close connection with church music; their saxophone-organ duo album with János Vázsonyi was recorded in a Budapest church. Flóra Joubert (drums) and Gábor Boros (double bass) are excellent partners in this lineup, as their sophisticated playing organically blends into the improvisations, which can almost be described as chamber music.
