Due to their own words “emerging from the ultra-civilized Austrian countryside, socialized by lederhosen clad brass bands and classical music, the zero times Grammy-nominated Namby Pamby Boy found their only chance to escape from all that in a garage, where they studied and listened to the evil sounds of hip hop, rock and jazz.” Both the band name and the story above are of course just part of the image: the trio of three very ambitious, talented young Austrian musicians presents a clever music interwoven with a lot of irony. Together with two friends of his age, Phil Nykrin on keyboards and Andreas Lettner on drums they founded the trio in 2010 and released Lunchbreak in 2011. Nykrin, also a Hans Koller Prize winner, spent some time in New York, where he founded his own group as well. Lettner plays drums with various Austrian groups of different kinds of musical genres, and is also active as music producer. And yet none of them are even thirty years old...
