MAO plays Attila Korb's Swing on the Danube

19:30
Concert Hall
Featuring:
  • Attila Korb – composer, trombone
  • Mátyás Papp – composer (MAO Masterclass)
  • Modern Art Orchestra
  • Artistic director: Kornél Fekete-Kovács

Attila Korb is a musician, a composer and a founding member of the Modern Art Orchestra. His trombone playing is present on all MAO albums and can be heard on many concerts, and his humour and youthful energy is always a pleasure to see and hear. On the 25th of November, Korb and the Modern Art Orchestra will present a completely new concerto. The original title is Concert for Bass Saxophone & Big Band

"A few years ago I started a new project by buying a bass saxophone. It should be no surprise that the concerto's soloist is actually me. The concerto has an unintentional classical overtone, yet it's a mainstream jazz suite. We will play acoustically to keep the classical style" - said the composer.

The concert will begin with a piece by Mátyás Papp, a participant of the MAO Master Class Big Band Composer Academy. From September to May, MAO will present nine composers and their pieces through the Academy. These compositions were never played by us before. There will also be some open, free events in connection with these concerts, where the audience can get an inside view of the stages of the process.

Tickets are available for 1800 HUF in advance / 2200 HUF on the spot,
online at jegy.hu, and at InterTicket Jegypont partners across Hungary.
