The 24-year-old pianist Márió Rafael started his studies at the Jazz Faculty of the Liszt Academy of Music ten years ago, as a private pupil of Károly Binder. He gave concerts already during his studies, both in trio and solo, performing even on stage of the Palace of Arts with the Budapest Jazz Orchestra. After winning several awards he left for Toronto in 2012 where he worked as session-musician for 18 months. After his return he formed his own trio with long-time buddies Pluto and Emilio, switching it to a quartet soon by joining forces with Gergely Varga.
