The musicians of the ethno-jazz / contemporary chamber music outfit Trio Squelini played with each other for years in various groups, like Tin Tin Q, Ektar Szőke Quartet and others. The trio, playing in the beginning just occasionally, made its first recording in 2014, and became a regular concert act since its release, entitled Campiello. Last year they recorded their second, Furioso, with contribution of the outstanding cellist, Ditta Rohmann. Its material was introduced in last February to the audience of the Opus Jazz Club quite a long time ahead of its release in September, featuring also the guest appearance of guitarist Zsolt Csókás.

This time they appear again with a brand new project. “A significant part of the program is the première of pieces I wrote for kalimba, with this fantastic lineup. It is an entirely new and exciting interpretation of the lamellophone instruments as well as their inclusion to the contemporary chamber jazz genre, also by using means of theatre.” says Péter Szalai about it.
