Szabolcs Oláh Quintet - New Album Premiere
Szabolcs Oláh - guitar János Ávéd - saxophone Gábor Cseke - piano Márton Soós - double bass András Dés - percussion Guitarist and composer Szabolcs Oláh Szabolcs formed his quintet with kex figures of the young Hungarian jazz-generation in 2012. First album of the group, appearing at the beginning of November, can be heard live at first in the Opus Jazz Club. The brand new compositions of the leader on Connection are characterized by modern and creative spiritas well as a spontaneity coming from the long fellowship of the msuicians. Band leader Szabolcs Oláh graduated in 2005 at the jazz-guitar class of the Liszt Academy of Music's Jazz Department. Besides the Dóra Szolnoki Quintet and Fekete-Kovács Quintet he played among others in the Modern Art Orchestra, the Trio of Nikoletta Szőke and Balázs Szendőfi's group Piccolo Inn. Both the trio of András Dés and his own group, Szabolcs Oláh Quartet, formed in 2002, were determining for him. Parallel to guitar playing he is does a lot of comoposing, not only for his own quintet but for the Modern Art Orchestra and other groups as well.
