Take the MOL Train: Das Kapital (D-FR-DK)
21:00
Opus Jazz Club
Featuring:
- Edward Perraud - drums
Daniel Erdmann - saxophone
Hasse Poulsen - guitar
Edward Perraud - drums
A new concert series, entitled Take the MOL Train, starts in the 2014 season of Opus Jazz Club. The MOL Special Train is aimed to deliver the prime of European jazz to Budapest. The luggage of its passengers will be stuffed with diversified, colourful, exciting productions from the jazz scene of our multicultural surroundings, Europe; a scene, which can’t be defined or mapped by usual terms of styles and genres anymore. This should be proven by the series through most up to date performances of European artists, demonstrating musical means of expression of the widest range.
It’s hard to imagine a more emblematic start of the series than the concert of the trio Das Kapital. German saxophonist, Danish guitarist and French drummer: a vivid, organic formation comprised of outstanding musicians of three significant Western-European jazz-nations – with arrangements of compositions by Hanns Eisler, “state composer” of the late East Germany, on their program. This is no cheap claptrap: they clash and bring together classical with jazz, past with present, West with East elegantly, sparkling and striking, setting forth and developing their real values on the highest artistic level.
Tickets available for 1500 HUF on the spot, in the national JEGYPONT network of Interticket and online at JEGY.HU
