The trio, playing in the beginning just occasionally, made its first recording in 2014, and became a regular concert act since its release, entitled Campiello. In 2016 they released their second, Furioso, with contribution of the outstanding Hungarian celloist, Ditta Rohmann.
The trumpet- and flugelhorn player David Boato, a permanent associate and regular performer of the respected Umbria Jazz, is a prominent figure on the Italian jazz scene, who has played with numerous well-known American and European musicians. The members of Trio Squelini have been playing also lot of concerts with him in different lineups for many years. These are well documented on concert recordings as well as on the album of the Szőke Quintet & David Boato, entitled Via Ilka, released in 2012 on Hunnia Records. On the stage of the Opus, like fruits of this longtime musical relationship, the most successful pieces of their common repertoire will be performed – with a lot of new inspiration.
