Voice of 32-year-old Susana accompanies her exquisite piano playing like kind of a sensual sigh, accomplished by the sound and rhythm of restrained double bass and brushed drums. “My debut turned out to be a jazz album, quite surprizing me, as my present influences are rather the poetry of Tom Waits and music of the Beatles, Nina Simone, Björk or Prince, though I have listend to Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald in my youth as well. The trio line-up, especially with this temperate way of playing and singing, forces me to reveal myself to the deep. You can’t hide yourself behind loudness or sound effects, the audience perceives every quiver of yours” as she puts it. It’s still a riddle which path she will take next: from the lively-bluesy jazz trio, through harsh electronic indie-pop (just watch below her own summer remix of Oh No!), and acoustic singer/songwriter even up to the jazz diva with fancy evening dress, there are quite a lot of roles she proved herself already, changing loosely from one to the another.
