    Memorial speech by Máté Hollós

Composer Katalin Pócs would have turned 60 in June 2023, but she passed away in 2019. Her oeuvre comprises over 150 compositions, largely unknown even to professionals in the field. She was a student of Emil Petrovics at the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. This event at the BMC Library is memorial concert organized in her honor by her friends and admirers. The concert will feature a selection of chamber music pieces performed by artists who had the opportunity to collaborate with the composer. Katalin Pócs's diverse and genre-varied body of work, along with her scores and manuscripts, is currently preserved at the BTK Institute of Musicology's Archives and Research Group for 20th-21st Century Hungarian Music. The organizers of the concert sincerely hope that Pócs's legacy will not fade into oblivion.
