MAO Exclusive: Album debut concert with compositions by Bacsó Kristóf

21:00
Opus Jazz Club
Modern Art Orchestra Artistic leader: Kornél Fekete-Kovács Kristóf Bacsó Quartet, Triad, Kálmán Oláh Sextet, Elemér Balázs’ group of Always that moment, the Karády-project of Ági Szalóki, and last but not least the series of Modern Art Orchestra and MAO sessions – after leading or participating in such a large number of successful gigs last year, there is no further prove necessary to say: Kristóf Bacsó is at home in the Opus Jazz Club. Still, today’s concert of the MAO-Exclusive series will be even more “exclusive”, presenting exclusively Bacsó’s compositions written for big band. Kristóf Bacsó, as soloist, arranger and composer, has done a great job already in Modern Art Orchestra, writing already a third of the compositions on MAO’s 2009 album Eclectic Path. In 2011, with his piece Lunar Dance, he got into the final of the international competition for composers, organized by the Brussels Jazz Orchestra. In the next year his composition Nocturne won 2nd prize at the competition for composers organized by the Hungarian Jazz Federation. The above mentioned clearly shows that the relation between the saxophonist/composer and the orchestra grows deeper and deeper. As a result of this years-long maturing process of composing a new album of Modern Art Orchestra containing exclusively Bacsó compositions will be released at BMC soon. Tonight the first time its complete material will be performed. Tickets are available for 1500 HUF on the spot, in the national JEGYPONT network of Interticket and online at JEGY.HU
