20:00 Artur Dutkiewicz Trio
Artur Dutkiewicz – piano
Michał Barański – doublebass
Łukasz Żyta – drums
The Artur Dutkiewicz Trio is a delicate combination of a classic jazz trio with the sound of modern jazz. Born in Pińczów in 1958, one of leading Polish jazz pianists, Dutkiewicz and his fellow musicians offer with their music a strong expression alternating with moody, almost contemplative moments in the solo cadenzas. The concert program includes the leader's own compositions as well as pieces from their successful Hendrix Piano album. Though performed and arranged several times by different musicians, this is the first time ever, that a piano trio plays improvisations on such well-known pieces of the Hendrix-repertoire as Hey Joe, Crosstown Traffic, Angel, Manic Depression or the emblematic Little Wing.
