The prominent instrumentalist of Polish jazz, who provides the solid ground to the music of numerous soloists like US sax players Jerry Bergonzi or Seamus Blake has several groups and releases of his own as well. Jacek Kochan, his drummer in the present trio played already at the Opus as well as on a former BMC festival with Viktor Tóth. During his more than 30-years-long career he proved himself in different genres from jazz to experimental improvised music, playing together with the likes of John Abercrombie, Kenny Wheeler, Dave Liebman, Eddie Henderson, Joey Calderazzo, Palle Mikkelborg, Eric Vloeimans, Nguyen Le, Eivind Aarset, Lars Danielsson, or Uri Caine. Adam Pierończy doesn’t need any introduction to lovers of Polish jazz. Since the end of the nineties the saxophonist was nominated for many awards in his home country, among them for the Best Musician of the Year, Best Soprano Sax Player of the Year and for Best Jazz Album of the Year.
