“When I first heard the 15-year-old Ali Lugosi clarinet player in the first season of Virtuosos (2014), I was already mesmerized, and the other members of the jury felt the same. There is something magical in his sound. The soul speaks through it to us in the language of music – because Ali says something with every single notes” – said András Batta, the member of the jury of the Virtuosos classical music TV series.

Daniel Ali Lugosi was born on February 14, 1999 in Ózd. He was raised in a musician family, his parents were teachers and his mother a piano teacher. At the age of 10, he began to play clarinet. He has won first prize in several competitions, including the Tibor 1. Dittrich National Chamber Music Festival, the V. Anton Eberst International Clarinet Competition and the "Femus" International Clarinet Competition in Subotica. In 2013, he was admitted to the exceptional talent class at the Vienna Music Academy, where he continued his studies under the supervision of Professor Johann Hindler. In 2014, he was the winner of the 15th Osaka World Music Festival in Japan, where he won 3rd place. In the fall of 2014, she was awarded the Grand Prize in the Classical Music Talent Show (Virtuosos) by MTVA. As a result, he has appeared in several prestigious international concert halls (Lincoln Center New York, Covent Garden London, Palace of Arts Budapest, Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, Miami Kravis Center, Budapest Sports Arena) One of the founding members of the Virtuosos Chamber Ensemble.
