Opus Jazz Club Francophone Jazz Festival

Francophone Jazz Festival at the Opus Jazz Club
March 26-30, 2019

Through their genuineness, vitality and openness to various genres and new trends, without cutting themselves adrift from their musical roots, French jazz artists undoubtedly played the most exciting role of the genre for decades. Over the past 18 years, through collaboration of BMC and the French Institute in Budapest not only internationally renowned francophone musicians were presented at the Opus Jazz Club, but, according to the unanimous opinion among French jazz professionals, BMC Records became by now "one of the most important French jazz labels”, by means of its numerous releases featuring French artists.

The joint successes achieved so far have been raised to a next level by the present Francophone Jazz Festival, including among its six concerts also two new BMC album debuts: on March 28 Hugues Mayot l'Arbre Rouge, while on March 30 the trio of Brun – Courtois – Fincker will present their new CDs released on BMC Records.

Among the performers we can find some of the most frequently performing French jazz musicians as the multi-faceted saxophonist Émile Parisien, violinist Théo Ceccaldi, winner of « Révélation de l’Année » in 2017; or the world-famous cellist, Vincent Courtois. The double-bill concert “Jazz Migration” on March 29th, supported by the French Jazz Association, for the third time already, will introduce two young, emerging quartets.

Tickets to the concerts of the festival are available on the spot, online at bmc.jegy.hu, and at InterTicket Jegypont partners across Hungary. Table reservation: +36 1 216 7894
